System to bring mixed precipitation to Northern Ontario #ONwx

An area of low pressure will push into northern Ontario and Wednesday bringing snow, ice pellets, freezing rain, and rain for much of the region.

Areas around Lake Nipigon and northeast could end up seeing significant amounts of snow with about 10 to 15 cm possible.

Precipitation is forecast to begin tonight as snow over most of the area with the exception of the Lake Superior area where precipitation is expected to begin as rain.

Significant freezing rain is possible for areas near Lake Superior. Several hours of freezing rain will be possible

For regions south of Highway 101, precipitation will likely remain as rain. There could able be an odd ruble of thunder.
