Three dead after powerful earthquake in Kyrgyzstan



There was a 7.0 earthquake in the Kyrgyzstan-Xinjiang border region on Tuesday.


The earthquake was centred 126.2 kilometres south-southeast of Kyzyl-Suu, Kyrgyzstan at a depth of 27 kilometres.


The earthquake waa also felt in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and China.


Reports from the area indicated that three people were killed and five people were injured. Thousands have been evacuated from the area.
