Tornado hits Gaylord, Michigan


The City of Gaylord, Michigan has been hit by a tornado.


The tornado moved through the city around 3:40 pm local time. It was on the ground for about 15 minutes.


While reports are preliminary, there have been reports that a building has collapsed and several cars were damaged. There was a lot of damage to a local trailer park.


Severe thunderstorms are moving through the region today and some non-severe thunderstorms are possible on Saturday.


Across lower Michigan, more than 25,000 customers across are without power.


Gaylord is located in Otsego County in Michigan. According to the 2020 census, Gaylord had a population of 4,286.
