Tornado Hits Mississippi Town

A tornado struck the town of Tishomingo in Mississippi.

On Tuesday evening, the National Weather Service in Memphis said that there was a tornado that moved through the area.

The storm knocked out power to about 16,000 customers.

There were some minor injuries reported. And some buildings were damaged.

Also on Tuesday, there was a tornado in Sewanee, Tennessee.

Tonight, severe thunderstorms are possible across parts of southeastern Kansas and into central and southern Missouri. The main threats are hail.
