Tropical Development Likely Near Mexico
While things remain quiet in the Atlantic basin, it is a bit of a different story in the eastern Pacific.
There is an area of low pressure that is centred several hundred kilometres south of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula.
It is producing a concentrated area of showers and thunderstorms near the well-defined surface center.
The National Hurricane Center says that additional development is anticipated and a tropical depression is likely to form during the next day or so while the system moves slowly northward.
