In Hawaii, there are still 151,995 customers without power after Tropical Storm Lala lashed the state over the weekend.

The US National Weather Service in Honolulu reported that two homes were swept away due to intense rainfall.

As of this morning, Lala is holding steady as it continues to move west away from the main islands.

The storm has maximum sustained winds near 95 km/h with higher gusts. Little change in intensity is expected over the next day or so. Some restrengthening is expected thereafter, and Lala is forecast to become a hurricane again by Wednesday.

Maui to Kauai County can expect an additional 1 to 3 inches of rainfall, which may produce localized areas of flooding and mudslides, especially in areas of steep terrain.

Large waves generated by Lala will continue to trend down from east to west across the Hawaiian waters through Monday.
