Update on the BC Flooding

A provincial state of emergency has been declared in British Columbia. The state of emergency is initially in effect for 14 days and may be extended or rescinded as necessary.


More members of the Canadian Military are heading to British Columbia to help those impacted by flooding.


Flooding is occurring in parts of the province causing evacuation orders in many locations.


A number of roads and highways have been impacted including washouts and landslides.


There are approximately 17,775 people evacuated due to impacts from the flooding, with 5,918 properties on Evacuation Order, and 3,632 properties on Evacuation Alert.


BC Hydro is reporting about 5,000 power outages.
