Warm temperature records smashed across Europe

Most of Europe has started the new year by smashing temperature records.

On New Year's Day, several areas saw temperatures soar into the teens and in some cases over 20 degrees.

Demarks, Latvia, and Poland are just some of the countries that set new maximum temperature records. Normally these areas experience snowy winters.

Ukraine has also seen above normal temperatures, a welcome event due to power shortages brought on by Russia's illegal invasion.

Even though temperatures have since fallen, it still remains above seasonal for this time of the year.
