Winter Storm Drops Over 40 cm of Snow Across The Prairies

Photo taken near Bashaw, Alberta. Angie Mackenzie.

A powerful winter storm plowed through southern Alberta, Saskatchewan, and portions of Manitoba over the weekend. The low-pressure system was centred over the northern U.S. and a trough over central Alberta brought heavy snow over the weekend.

The Prairies saw snow, ice pellets, freezing rain, rain, and gusty winds. The snow was the biggest problem where it was heavy at times.

In Saskatchewan, there were several accidents reported and there were a few power outages.
