Atlantic Canada Hurricane Dorian Forecast


As of right now, Hurricane Dorian is 230 km southeast of Nantucket, Massachusetts. The maximum sustained winds are 140 km/h and is presently moving to the northeast at 41 km/h.


The storm is expected to hit Atlantic Canada.


Dorian is expected to move over Nova Scotia with hurricane-force winds. Thereafter, Dorian is forecast to become a powerful post-tropical cyclone over eastern Canada by tonight or early Sunday.


Regardless of whether Dorian is a hurricane or a post-tropical cyclone, hurricane conditions are expected in the Hurricane Warning area in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland beginning later today, and they are possible in the Hurricane Watch area by tonight. Tropical storm conditions are expected in the Tropical Storm Warning area in eastern Canada later today and tonight.


Storm Surge is likely in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, the Southwest Coast of Newfoundland, and Eastern Nova Scotia.

  • Argentia to North Sydney Saturday, September 07, 2019 at 1700 is now scheduled to depart Monday, September 09, 2019 at 1700.

  • Port aux Basques to North Sydney Sunday, September 08, 2019 at 1145 is now scheduled to depart Sunday, September 08, 2019 at 2345.

  • North Sydney to Port aux Basques Sunday, September 08, 2019 at 1215 is now scheduled to depart Sunday, September 08, 2019 at 2345.

  • North Sydney to Argentia Sunday, September 08, 2019 at 1730 is now scheduled to depart Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 1730.
