Atmospheric river to bring snow and rain to British Columbia this weekend
A moderate atmospheric river will bring snow and rain to southern British Columbia this weekend and Monday.
The low will deliver heavy rain, snow, and strong winds.
On Haida Gwaii winds will gust from 70 to 90 km/h today. Winds on East Vancouver Island - Nanoose Bay to Campbell River, and the Sunshine Coast will also gust to 90 km/h today.
Through Sunday evening heavy rain is expected across Vancouver Island and the southern coast of BC. 30 to 150 mm of rain is possible.
On Monday rising freezing levels will result in melting snow and this combined with the rain could result in flooding.
Snow is expected over the coastal mountains on Sunday.
