Cyclone Tauktae slams India

Cyclone Tauktae is currently impacting the state of Karnataka and Goa in India. So far the storm has killed four people.

Tauktae has brought heavy rainfall and flash floods to areas along the coast of Kerala and on Lakshadweep. There have been reports of heavy rain in the state of Goa.

Several states along the west coast of the country have been hit with heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds. The Indian Meteorological Department says the storm will likely continue to intensify.

India has announced that tens of thousands of people will be evacuated.

The storm is the first major tropical storm in India this season.
