Southern Ontario

Areas east of Peterborough to the Quebec border will see the heaviest snow with 10 to 20 cm expected. The remainder of Southern Ontario will only see about 5 to 10 cm, with 2 to 5 cm expected in southwestern Ontario.

Southern Quebec

Snow will begin today across Quebec with 15 to 20 centimetres from Sunday afternoon to Monday across southern and central Quebec. 15 to 25 centimetres of snow is likely for areas such as the Quebec City area, La Tuque, Laurentian Park, Saguenay, Lac Saint-Jean and Les Escoumins. Rain could also mix with snow at times over areas near the St. Lawrence River.

Close to 10 centimetres is possible from this evening until Monday across the Lower St Lawrence.

Baie-Comeau and Manicouagan will pick up close to 15 cm. The Sept-Îles area will see 10 cm from Monday morning to Monday evening.

Newfoundland and Labrador

The same low pressure system will push across Newfoundland and Labrador beginning on Monday evening and continuing until Wednesday. The low will bring heavy rain, heavy snow, and strong winds, depending on the area.

Across Newfoundland, rain will begin on Monday evening. Rainfall amounts of 40 to 60 mm are possible across the Island. There is the possibility of higher amounts over western areas. Winds will gust from 60 to 70 km/h on Tuesday, along the west coast; gusts from 100 to 110 km/h are expected. On Tuesday night and Wednesday, gusts of 80 to 100 km/h, except up to 120 along parts of the coast, are possible.

Across western Labrador, snow will start on Monday afternoon and will continue until Tuesday evening, with 15 to 25 cm possible.

For the northern coast of Labrador from Nain to Hopedale, snow will start Monday Night. Snow is expected to transition through ice pellets and freezing rain to rain by Tuesday evening. Rain will transition back to snow on Wednesday and taper off by Wednesday evening. Snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm are expected along with 30 to 50 mm of rain. Winds will gust from 80 to 100 km/h.
