Hurricane Franklin to bring high surf and rip currents to Bermuda, US, and Canada
Hurricane Franklin is a category four hurricane and is churning about 600 km west-southwest of Bermuda.
As Franklin heads northward over the next few days, it is expected to weaken. This morning the storm still has winds of 220 km/h.
Tropical storm conditions are possible in Bermuda by Wednesday morning. Franklin will also cause high surf and rip currents in Bermuda and the southeast coast of the United States.
These conditions are expected to spread northward along the east coast of the United States and Atlantic Canada later today into Wednesday.
A pair of lows passing over Newfoundland on Wednesday and Thursday may draw some moisture from Franklin but no direct impacts are anticipated at this time.
