Mixed Bag of Weather Heading to Newfoundland
A low will push across Newfoundland beginning tonight.
The low will bring some mixed precipitation to the Island.
Along the south coast and the Avalon is where snow is most likely.
Snowfall accumulations could reach about 5 cm inland and over higher terrain, locally higher amounts are possible.
For central and western Newfoundland, some mixed precipitation is likely also, however, no accumulation is expected.
Also, there is a Wreckhouse wind warning in effect for Channel-Port aux Basques and vicinity. Easterly winds will strengthen in the Wreckhouse area later today. Gusts are forecast to reach 110 km/h this evening before diminishing upon turning to northeasterly near midnight.
