NL Government providing assistance to residents impacted by rainstorm

The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is providing financial relief to homeowners, tenants, not-for-profit organizations, small businesses and local governments that suffered damage from the rainstorm event that occurred on the southwest coast of the island portion of the province on November 23 and 24.

The Provincial Government has applied to the Federal Government to recover eligible expenses associated with damages.

Anyone wishing to apply is reminded that the program is not an insurance program and only allows for compensation for items that are deemed essential. Before submitting an application, residents are asked to contact their insurance company.

The deadline to submit a claim is April 29, 2022.
