Rain and Strong Wind Expected in NL Beginning Tonight

A low-pressure system that will be move south of Newfoundland will bring some rain to the province tonight and will continue on Saturday.

The heaviest rain will fall over western and southern Newfoundland and in western Labrador.

Across the Avalon and northeast coast, there will hardly be any rain.

Along the west coast of Newfoundland tonight, wind gusts to 80 km/h tonight into tomorrow morning is likely.

Additionally, strong winds with gusts to 80 km/h will develop in the Wreckhouse area this afternoon then further increase with gusts to 100 km/h this evening. Winds will start to diminish Saturday morning.
