Heavy rain continues across eastern mainland Nova Scotia and Cape Breton. An additional 50 to 90 mm of rain is expected by Thursday morning.

Thursday afternoon into Friday afternoon snow and ice pellets are expected. Total snowfall and ice pellet accumulations could reach 10 to 15 cm. Strong winds will be an issue too with gusts up to 90 km/h expected.

In Newfoundland, southwestern sections could see 150 to 300 mm of additional rainfall while western sections will get 50 to 100 mm, potentially reaching 200 mm inland and over higher terrain until Thursday night.

Thursday morning into Friday night western Newfoundland and the Great Northern Peninsula will see snow with amounts of 30 to 50 cm possible. From Badger to Gander 10 to 20 cm is expected. The remainder of the Island will also see snow but less than 10 cm is anticipated. Winds will be strong with gusts between 70 and 90 km/h across the Island.
