Snow expected across the Southern Prairies

An area of low pressure currently located off the Pacific Coast will move inland and develop further over Montana.

This low will bring snow to the three southern Prairie provinces on Friday night and Saturday.

In Southern Alberta snow will begin on Friday afternoon. By Friday evening snow will push into southern Saskatchewan into southwestern Manitoba and then push across southern Manitoba Saturday into Saturday evening.

Snowfall amounts of 10 to 20 cm are expected. If the low shifts father south, snowfall amounts will decrease, if it moves north, snowfall amounts could be higher.

Wind gusts between 40 and 60 km/h will result in blowing snow and reduced visibility.
