Snow, freezing rain, and rain expected across northern Ontario today

The weather will be quite stormy across parts of northern and far northern Ontario.

Areas from west of Lake Superior northeast to Peawanuck will see snow today with amounts of 15 to 25 cm possible. This area will also see strong winds, resulting in blowing snow and reduced visibility.

To the east, freezing rain is expected from central Lake Superior northeast to the Attawapiskat and Fort Albany areas near James Bay. Several millimetres of ice accretion are possible.

The snow will continue on Tuesday across far northeastern Ontario. Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 cm are possible.
