Stormy Morning in Parts of Alberta


It is a stormy morning in parts of Alberta.


Severe thunderstorm watches remain in effect for areas around Edmonton.


The severe weather began on Tuesday afternoon.


In alerts from Environment and Climate Change Canada, there was a warning that there could be "strong wind gusts, ping-pong ball-sized hail, and heavy rain."


There is also a rainfall warning in effect for Peace River - Fairview - High Prairie - Manning. 40-70 mm are expected by the time rain comes to an end Thursday night, with amounts locally exceeding 100 mm.


Meanwhile, heat warnings remain in effect in northern Alberta, northern Saskatchewan, and northern Manitoba.
