Tropical development possible in the Atlantic

A tropical wave currently centred over the eastern tropical Atlantic is producing a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms.

Environmental conditions will hinder development in the short term, but this wave does have the potential for some gradual development. The wave has a 60 percent chance of forming through the next five days.

A tropical depression could form during the early to the middle part of next week while it moves westward over the tropical Atlantic and approaches the Windward Islands.

The next named storm will be Bonnie.
