Captain Jennifer Casey Identified as #Snowbirds Member Killed in Plane Crash


Captain Jennifer Casey has been identified as the team member of the Snowbirds that was killed in the plane crash.

Captain Richard MacDougall also sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The group was taking part in a cross-country tour. Sunday morning a Canadian Forces Snowbird crashed near Kamloops, B.C.

The aircraft had just taken off and something went wrong.

Lieutenant-General Al Meinzinger, Commander Royal Canadian Air Force said, "Today, the RCAF has suffered another tragic loss of a dedicated member of the RCAF team and CF Snowbirds. We grieve alongside Jenn’s family, friends and colleagues and are deeply saddened. Our thoughts also go out to the loved ones of Captain Richard MacDougall. We hope for a swift recovery from his injuries.”

The Snowbirds, officially known as 431 Air Demonstration Squadron, are the military aerobatics or air show flight demonstration team of the Royal Canadian Air Force.

The team is based at 15 Wing Moose Jaw near Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
