Several tornadoes were reported in Manitoba and Saskatchewan over the weekend. On Sunday several severe thunderstorms impacted Manitoba bringing heavy rain, large hail, and tornadoes. Downburst strikes Prince Edward Island
On Friday, a thunderstorm impacted the Summerside area of Prince Edward Island. Based on information gathered by Environment and Climate Change Canada in collaboration with the Northern Tornadoes Project, the storm produced a strong downburst with an EF-0 rating, with localized wind gusts possibly exceeding 100 km/h. Canada provides funding after floods and landslides along Nepal-China border
Canada is providing $5 million in humanitarian assistance funding to support emergency relief efforts in Nepal. This funding will support the delivery of life-saving assistance, such as emergency food, shelter, water, sanitation and health services, which will be delivered through UN, Red Cross and Canadian NGO partners.
