Starting today, Environment and Climate Change Canada has introduced a new method to issue tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings. Moving forward, when a tornado warning or severe thunderstorm warning is issued, meteorologists will draw polygons around areas threatened by severe weather rather than issuing warnings across an entire weather zone.
