A tornado was confirmed near Carbon, Alberta, on Aug. 12, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada. The weather agency said the tornado was observed at approximately 2 p.m. MDT about five kilometres west of Carbon. Severe thunderstorms moved through parts of Quebec Thursday afternoon, bringing heavy rain and hail that caused some damage.
