Tornado Confirmed Near Carbon, Alberta
A tornado was confirmed near Carbon, Alberta, on Aug. 12, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada. The weather agency said the tornado was observed at approximately 2 p.m. MDT about five kilometres west of Carbon. A strong earthquake in Indonesia has resulted in the death of at least 47 people. Several other people are unaccounted for. The earthquake was a magnitude 7.7.
